Cerfonica (formerly known as Cerita Sinfonica) was established in 2015 as a platform for musicians from diverse backgrounds to rehearse, perform, and appreciate orchestra music. Guided by the emerging conducting ace, Ahmad Aliff, the orchestra strives to present quality repertoire with high standards of performance to the public. The orchestra aspires to be the foremost professional ensemble in the country.
To date, Cerfonica has performed in several public concerts, and also received invitations by dignitaries, governmental agencies, and multinational corporations. The orchestra has worked with notable Malaysian artists such as Siti Nurhaliza, Jaclyn Victor, and Misha Omar.
Cerfonica aims to promote and educate the public about orchestral music. It is hoped that by making the genre more accessible to the larger market, more people will realise the value of an orchestra to the society. The orchestra music scene can only grow when there is enough public awareness and continuous support.
